Network Engineer III is responsible for complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within a network management center or organization, and may handle enterprise level issues. The candidate provides technical support by analyzing hardware and/or software data, identifying the root cause of the problem and developing/implementing hardware and/or software solutions. Candidate is responsible for design, integration, operation and management of complex enterprise networks, linking a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies and network protocols. Candidate may also manage teams of engineers or lead project initiatives related to network architecture, evaluation of hardware and software products and problem resolution. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. 8 years of related work experience.
The LTE Core Test Engineer resource will be responsible for supporting LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC) testing for the company's Network Vision 4G-LTE feature functionality with focus on Cisco PGW. This engineer will support the solution design, requirements documentation and development required to implement data network solutions for complex business requirements. Most importantly, this engineer will support the technical development of lab design and architecture, test strategy, test cases, test case automation, validation processes and analysis related to EPC feature development, capacity and performance testing, EPC hardware and software releases, and parameter validation
This position requires coordination and rationalization across Network Development, Network Engineering, Device Management, Product Management, Information Technology (IT), Ericsson Managed Services (EMS), and Network Vision vendor teams to define and support solution design and testing for LTE and associated network technologies.
¿ Bachelor's degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school
¿ Three years experience with research, design, planning and development of new advanced network technologies, network components and radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission
¿ Two years project management and project implementation experience
¿ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree
¿ At least twelve years of post-high school work experience in advanced telecommunications
¿ At least five years of Subject Matter Expertise (SME) level work experience in design and/or lab environment
¿ Ability to validate and create EPC test architecture and requirements, network impact assessments, parameter validation, and capacity and performance test analysis
¿ Ability to define testing processes, strategy, and test cases for the Mobility Management Entity (MME), Serving Gateway (SGW), PDN Gateway (PGW), HRPD Serving Gateway (HSGW), DIAMETER Routing Agent (DRA), and Element Management Systems (EMS)
¿ Ability to leverage test tools for EPC performance validation and test case automation.
¿ Previous LTE Core design and test experience
¿ Data Core vendor management experience
¿ Comprehensive understanding of IP transport integration.
¿ Lab testing Cisco PGWs and HAs.
¿ Testing other EPC elements such as MME, SGW, and HSGW.
